Portrait Sculpting in 2D Bas Relief With John Collings

In this 3 week class learn the foundations of realistic bas relief (or 2D) portrait sculpting in water based clay. Using a photograph photocopy, the subject of your sculpture can be almost anyone you would like, such as a self portrait, or portrait of a spouse, child, grandchild or even a special pet. Students will gain hands on experience in methods of bas relief sculpting with the goal to capture a likeness and produce a finished artwork suitable for display.

All supplies will be provided.
